Background on The Program
Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) Department offers incentives to help commercial and multi-unit property owners install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations citywide. The Power Up Pasadena Commercial Charger Incentive Program allows eligible properties to secure up to $100,000 in funding to help offset project costs. Programs like PWP’s and others nationwide are expanding access to EV charging and making EV ownership more accessible for everyone. Learn more about the program’s requirements below.
What You Need to Know
Requirements:
- Projects must be located within PWP’s electric service territory; all power for station operation must be supplied directly by PWP
- Projects must be at non-residential properties, including, but not limited to, commercial, nonprofit, and multi-unit dwelling (MUD)
Funding Available per Charging Port:
- $4,000 for qualifying projects not specified below
- $8,000 for stations accessible to students and patrons of schools, for stations located in DAC areas, or for projects with Level 3 DC fast chargers
Max Award Available for Each Applicant:
- $100,000, depending on scope and eligibility
