Background on the Program
San Luis Obispo (SLO) County’s EV Infrastructure Program allows local properties to save thousands on EV charger installations, replacements, and expansions. The program is now open and accepting applicants. Acceptance is on a first-come first-served basis, so if you know you are eligible and want to apply, the sooner the better. The program aims to expand EV charging solutions across San Luis Obispo County, primarily targeting designated low-income communities, which will receive funding priority, though other sites are still eligible.
What You Need to Know
Eligible Project Types
- Site must be in San Luis Obispo County
- New, conversion of existing, or expansion of existing non-residential level 2 or higher battery charging stations
- Stations open to the public 24/7, 365 days per year
- Non-residential, non-public stations available to at least 10 vehicles per day at destination areas, such as workplaces, hotels, distribution centers, warehouses, etc., with a minimum of 2 charging heads per location
- Fleet stations serving multiple vehicles owned or leased by a business or government agency
- Multi-unit dwelling level 2 residential stations
- Residential properties must have a minimum of four units
Funding Available per Project:
- First-come first-served basis
- At least 80% of the project funds shall be used for projects located in an AB 1550 low-income community
